On-Campus Sports Teams

The sports teams on campus are organised through Hermes, the sports committee. In the beginning of every semester they organise an open practice for each sport, they always promote this through the different communication platforms. Off-Campus Sports Teams

There are student sport associations in town in basically every sport you can think of. The website utrechtstudentenstad offers a nice overview of the different teams, however it is only accessible in Dutch. If you are interested in the information they provide, please follow this link. Team Universiteit Utrecht – ROTC (Sailing)

The Race of the Classics (de Rees) is a sailing race where students from different cities compete on different classic sailboats. The race takes them from the Netherlands to Belgium past the UK and back, all of this in under a week!

Van Slag (Volleyball)

Van Slag is a student volleyball association with a lot of members. Every week they host several internal competitions, through this you get to know many members in a short amount of time.

US Histos (Sailing)

At US Histos you can practise a total of 7 sailing disciplines. As a member of this association you can learn how to sail, teach or compete against other teams/clubs.

USDV U Dance (Style dancing/Salsa)

For students that are interested in style dancing in particular. U Dance organises style- and salsa calsses, dance nights, real style dancing proms and more (slightly) dance-related activities.

For students that are interested in cycling in a group/team around Utrecht.

USV Protos (Volleyball)

Protos is a cozy student volleyball association in Utrecht. Besides playing in a team, they also organise activities for all the association’s members.

USVV Odysseus (Football)

The football association in Utrecht that hosts the most students, and one that besides having football teams on different levels offers a large amount of activities outside of the football field.

US Beat it (Squash)

The student squash association in Utrecht. They host an open club night every week (toss) and they offer squash practices from trainers in small groups.

USSV Softijs (Speed Skating)

Softijs is the student speed skating association in Utrecht. Besides speed skating, they also organise running, skeelering and cycling practices in groups. Next to that, the association also hosts non-speedskating related activities

USR Hippeia (Equestrian)

Hippeia is the equestrian sports student association in Utrecht. The cozy association organises activities that are horse- and non-horse related.

USRS is the largest student rugby association in the Netherlands and keeps on growing through the growing popularity of the sport here.

USR Triton (Rowing)

The student rowing association Triton combines sport with borrels and activities. Rowing is popular student sport, and forms a good way to stay fit as a student.

USKV Hebbes (Korfbal)

Hebbes is Utrecht’s student korfball association. You can sign up for regular practice and competitive korfball or just for a single practice. The association consists of 4 full teams.

Utrechtse Studenten Hockey Club (Hockey)

USHC is the largest hockey club in the Netherlands, that offers a place for both beginners and experienced members.

Utrechtse Studenten Alpen Club (Climbing)

USAC is a climbing association that hosts organised trips to the highest peaks of the Alps. Examples are Climbing weekends and a Summercurcusse.

TC de Uithof (Tennis)

TC de Uithof is the only student tennis association in Utrecht. It counts about 5oo members which makes it the largest student tennis association in the Netherlands. Next to regular practice and competitions they also organise non-tennis related activitie

U-turn organises a lot of non-gymnastics related activities next to regular gymnastics. They specifically focus on exchanges with other student associations through competitions, borrels and more social activities.

This is Utrecht’s student basketball association. Mixed teams, through selection procedures you get placed in a team that matches your level.

SPIN has throughout the years grown to be an organised boarding association with enthusiastic members that contribute to the association through committees.

SB Helios (Badminton)

SB Helios is the student badminton association in Utrecht. They host competitions all weekend and there are teams from every level available.

RUS (Rugby)

RUS is the only all-female rugby association in the Netherlands. Their highest team plays first class competition, however you can sign up at any level.

HV Beertje (Handball)

HV Beertje is a student handball association that also organises social activities next to sports. The association counts about 60 members and represents each level.

If you’re into basketball than this is the association for you. USBF organises a large internal basketball competion between 14 teams.

UTKA Utrecht is a student ultimate frisbee association. They started as a small team in 2012 but grew to be an established sports association.
