Both the central bike gate and the car gate are locked at 1AM and reopen at 6AM. When the gates are locked, you can open the central pedestrian gate with your access key. Leaving with the car at night is impossible unless you call non-emergency security and pay €28. If you have off-campus guests at night, don’t forget to walk with them to the gate or they won’t be able to leave campus.
Also note that emergency vehicles (ambulance, police, fire brigade) cannot enter campus during these hours without assistance. Therefore, if you require emergency assistance on campus, you should always call emergency security (+31 30 253 4444).
Parties are generally allowed on campus and in units, as long as they don’t disturb other people or campus neighbours. The official rules regarding parties can be found in the Campus Life Rules and Guidelines, which states you cannot throw a party in a unit, if it will welcome more than 30 people
. The main thing to remember for any party in your unit is to ask your unit mates if it’s okay with them. There’s nothing worse than people shouting and dancing outside your room when you have a 9AM exam the next day.
